Organic Artichoke

Artichokes are unknown to many people. While living in California, I was able to eat these quite often, some people don't like the taste, but I rather enjoy them. You prepare an artichoke by cooking it first in a pot of boiling water. Once the artichoke is ready, it can be served as is with some veggie mayonaise. Simply pull the leaves off one at a time, dip them in the mayonaise, and bite off "meat", afterwards putting the hard part of the leaf back on the plate. Sound complicated? Just give it a try, it can't hurt.

Artichoke hearts are generally the most delicious part of the artichoke. These can be purchased at stores in jars, already seasoned. When purchasing fresh artichokes, you may wish to purchase organic artichokes, as they are grown without the use of chemicals and pesticides - much healthier for you!
